How to Attract Ladybugs into Your Garden

Ladybugs are well-known beneficial insects that love to dine on aphids, mealybugs, scale, thrips and mites. The trick to attracting and retaining ladybugs in your garden is to provide them with some of their favorite plants scattered around your garden at intervals of every 20 feet or so. A few of these favorite plants include:
  • Achillea or yarrow, a perennial garden plant
  • Dill, a useful herb
  • Carrots, especially when they have gone to seed
  • White Alyssum, an annual
  • White Cosmos, an annual

Yarrow is a wonderful garden perennial plant that blooms all summer long and is available in a wide variety of colors and sizes and is also deer resistant. You can air dry yarrow and use it dried flower arrangements or to decorate seasonal wreaths. You can purchase yarrow plants at our online store.
